I'm Back!

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Hello there world!

This is the longest break I have ever taken from my blog, facebook page and creating products.
Let me tell you a bit about what I have been up to in no particular order:
My little baby Hula Moo turned one this past week. Isn't she just adorable!
My sister Tessa is getting MARRIED in October! My mom and I threw her a tea themed bridal shower, which was a ton of fun.

I live a mere 3 miles from the beach! I have been trying to get out of my house and down to see the sunset as much as possible!
I spent the 4th Of July visiting my family in San Jose, CA. Our neighborhood has a parade and then a BBQ. My mom and I worked the food station together all day.
oh you better believe I play Pokemon Go! My friend Brittany and I went out to a local park and look at all the grown-ups with their heads in their phones! Us included!
I visited my sister up in Redondo Beach and I tried Boba for the first time. Still not sure if I like it or not.
My sister moved to Redondo Beach about a year ago, so for her birthday I bought us both Annual Passes to Disneyland! We had a blast and I can't wait to go again!

My husband and I took a week long trip to Laughlin, NV, Grand Canyon National Park, Sedona AZ and then back home! It was fun to travel the Southwest, see new sites and enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation.

MORE EXCITEMENT TO COME!

After presenting at CSHA in April, I think Felice Clark (The Dabbling Speechie) and I have caught the presentation bug. We submitted and were accepted to present at ASHA 2016 in Philadelphia! Come see us Thursday at 3:00pm- Practical Tips for Managing your Prek-5 caseload (AKA How to Maintain Your Sanity)

I also have a few new jobs.  Yes, a few

I left my job of 6 years at Pioneer to change things up a bit! I will still be working for the same district, but I will be completely switching gears and working with Severely Handicapped students.

I will also be the SLP Facilitator for my district (2 days a week). Which means I get to help all the new SLPs we hired. I will travel around supporting SLPs with caseloads, providing professional development and really anything else they need me for.

I finished up teaching my first online class for California State University of San Marcos (CSUSM) on Cultural Issues in Education this past Spring. I have to say I LOVED it. So, this coming fall I will be teaching a live class for 16 weeks on Language Acquisition!

This summer I am supervising the second year of the Bilingual Preschool Clinic, it's my favorite! I will be posting soon about everything we have done in the short 5 week summer clinic! Stay tuned!
